Literary Sandcastles: A Podcast Reflection on George Sand’s Groundbreaking Literary Career.

I wrote and edited a podcast script for a project in my Media Literacy course. The podcast highlights the 19th-century writer Aurore Dupin, more often known by her pseudonym, George Sand. Writing this podcast script was an exercise in telling a well-rounded story in a short amount of time. The research on Dupin's life had to be described in a digestible manner without too many details while still retaining its accuracy. This podcast is particularly impactful because it not only promotes media literacy but tells an entertaining and informative story about Aurore Dupin that highlights individuals of marginalized gender identity in media in a way that has not been previously done.

I spearhead the promotion of the gallery's brand and message by composing social media posts on Instagram and Facebook. Community engagement is vital to building a brand. The mission of the gallery is to connect local artists and their circles to a broader community in rural Maine. This post highlights the process of fulfilling that mission to encourage conversation, collaboration, and camaraderie in the community.

Gallery Blog
A major project at the gallery is our Artist Feature video and blog series. One of the gallery's missions is to build a community of artists from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to illuminate art in conversation. The blog is an important component in the gallerys mission by to share artists' stories more broadly. My role is taking the provided statements from the artists in the video series and editing the statements to align with the gallery's blog format.

Maine Food Convergence Report and the Climate Justice Crash Course
I improved the accuracy of the Maine Food Convergence Report's and the Climate Justice Crash Course's messages by spearheading the final round of editing on both projects. Education is one of the goals of both documents and by improving the readability of the documents and confirming the accuracy of all the provided information I made sure both projects were able to reach that goal.
